I am 40 and live in the San Jose Bay Area in Northern California, though originally from Germany I moved here very young(less than 1yr old).. I was in "IT" for 16 years before the dot-com bust and have since moved into Real Estate were I do Mortgages for a company in Silicon Valley(www.empireequity.com).. I am divorced and have 2 great kids ages 13 & 15.. I love Astronomy as a hobby and am a member of F.P.O.A.(Fremont Peak Observatory Asociation).. that runs a telescope near San Juan Baptista.. Also play Fantasy Football in my spare time(10 years running)..
I have been a seti user since beginning of 2000 and hope to be able to in the next couple years buy my new Telescope.. A Meade model.. 10-12 inches, the technology today is awesome... I have always felt we were not alone out there and loved the movie Contact with Jodie Foster. Have been a Seti fan since finding out about it from a friend of mine in 2000...

I run Seti because I believe there is life out there.. I have always been a scientist at heart. though it probably won't happen in my or my kids lifetime. finding life out there would be awesome...
