Personal background
I am 52 and live is southwest Virginia. I run a computer repair shop and my interest in computers and surfing the web is how I found out about SETI.
I have been helping to search for E.T. for over two years now.
I have been married to my wonderful wife for over 6 years now. She also uses her computer to help search for E.T.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I truly believe that we are not alone and someday will find evidence to prove that. Like it was said in the movie Contact (Based on the book of the same name by the late great Carl Sagan) if we are alone, it's an awful waste of space.

I do wonder, if the frequencies we are searching are where we will find evidence of other life, why are we not sending out a signal in the same frequency range. Perhaps everyone is listening there but not transmitting. That would be unfortunate if that were the case.

As for a message we could transmit, perhaps we should just say: "Mom and Dad misses you. Please phone home". And sign it: "Your brothers and sisters".

And I say to all the SETI workers and home users to stay the course as all good thing come to those who wait.

Good hunting to all the SETI users.
