Profile: Will Phoenix

Personal background
I'm a 23 year old father that has always had a fascination with science, particularly astronomy and cosmology. I spend a lot of time studying different things; who knows, maybe one day I'll end up on Jeopardy. My personal life is pretty good, I've been married since I was 19, my only gripe is that I'm currently pretty far from the rest of my family. I currently live in the US, but I'm originally from Alberta, Canada. In the future we want to live in BC, probably the most beautiful Canadian province (I've been through almost all of them so I know firsthand). Until then, New Hampshire is a pretty good place to raise a family.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I thought I'd give this a try so I can say I actually did something to further science. It may not be a huge deal, but who knows what one of us could process? The more people helping out, the faster the project moves, and higher the chance of finding something within our lifetimes.

I think the project is a great idea. It gives average people a chance to be a part of something they wouldn't otherwise take part in. It's a lot more efficient to have many computers doing the work of one computer, so it works out for everyone.

The only suggestion that I have is that you should get the word out more about the site. I only found out about it through the Stumble extension via Firefox, I wouldn't know about it otherwise. Getting the word out through Discovery.com, among other sites, would attract a lot of people like me, willing to help the cause of science for whatever reason.
