Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

The questions:
1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

The answers:
1. I think extraterrestrial life exists. It's arrogant to believe that we live on the only planet with intelligent lifeforms. Whether we are able to find other intelligent lifeforms or not, we have to try it. No risk no fun!!! ;-)

2. Difficult question. As in the film contact, mathematical information should be send. Maybe there are bigger projects in the universe than seti and we are found by others. Intelligent life should be able to find such a beacon.

3.
a: I have too much computer-capacity! ;-)
b: I like the screensaver!
c: The seti program is more stable than linux *ggggggg*
Keep on searching! Life long and prosper!
