| I love tinkering around with the innards of computers. Have a huge interest in distributed computing. Both my AMD opteron server (8 cores @ 3.2Ghz, 32GB RAM, 400GB Boot drive and 10TB SAN storage) and my Apple Mac mini (2 Intel cores @ 1.6Ghz, 2GB RAM, 60GB Boot drive, and using the same 10TB SAN storage as the Opteron) |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I have always been intrigued with the idea of life on other worlds. Being able to run a program like this lets me feel i am making a contribution to the scientific community. I think that seti@home is a wonderfull idea, and more people should help with the search.
I hope that the black hole "detector" that is in the PC version of the client will eventually be put into the Mac osX version. I have the intel mac, but it still uses a completely different client program than the micro$haft version. |
