Personal background
I started running SETI at home a few years ago while working in Massachusetts. Surfing the Internet, I was reminded of it again, and since I've got a pair of slightly better computers now, I figured I'd leave them running and help out again.

I do a bit of writing, technical and creative. I mend books for a local library, and I'm hoping to do a bit of freelance programming and engineering in the near future.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home to help out the project and to see if maybe we can't find something or someone besides ourselves out there. It's also a bit more effective than just spending tons of taxpayer money and throwing it at a project (although that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing). I also like being able to participate more personally in such an adventure.

The screensaver is much more exciting than the old one, but I do wonder if there might not be an improvement in performance if the old display were used.

One thing I miss about the current website is that I haven't found a way to look up a particular user. They aren't in alphabetical order and I don't see a way to look for a particular name.
