Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home cause i don't use my computer all the time and I want to contribute to the progress of humanity in finding alien intelligent races.

My views on the project: I'm quite skeptical, cause if u think about how weak the signal from the Pioneer 10 and 11 probes is, even if they've only just left the solar system, think about how weak it would be from the closest star, 4 light years away! Not to mention the more distant stars. Plus, the device that sends the signals has to be pointed almost directly to earth, within a small fraction of a degree, and even if it is at one moment, we'd have to have the whole planet covered with antennas to receive at that precise moment. Instead, if the large antennas at Arrecibo are on the other side of the earth when the signals arrive, it's very likely that we missed it.
