Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
i found out about seti@home from a star trek dvd that i was watching one night, and had heard about the project, and was intruiged by the possibilities of such a massive undertaking, as the average trekkie, i am intruiged by the possibility of e.t. its hard to belive that god in His wisdom created earth just for humans, in my opinon, its more than likely that if he does exist that He would have created other life in the galaxy in order for humans and aliens to experince the wonders of our planet and humans to experince the wonder of theirs as well, im not saying that vulcans or klingons exsit but the probablity is very high that there is other life forms like them, one theory of mine is that the reason that we have not made contact yet, is that humanity is, on the evolutionary scale, still in its infancy, and other intelligences out there may think of us as too primitive, to comprehend what they are trying to convey in a message if anything. they may have a version of the prime directive, where they are not allowed to initiate contact until we hit a certian level of technological development, this makes more sence than some of the nay-sayers out there saying that they have been abducted by aliens. i mean think about it, we are progressing very rapidly in development, but we still have a very long way to go, we've just begun to explore space, i think that the seti@home project is a wonderful way to explore this and mabey someday it will be sucessful in finding what we are looking for
