Personal background
I'm a 4th year Pharmacy Extern in NW GA (just south of Chattanooga, TN). I'm 34 and married, with a lovely wife and two children. I love the Appalachian mountains, hiking, and I'm a Mac geek. I'm already involved with Folding@Home, but wanted something for my iBook G4 to do that could potentially be useful for everyone. :-)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have run SETI@home once before, back in the late 90's until around 2002 or so. I then changed my single G4 MDD computer over to folding proteins. I'm in Pharmacy, so the potential to better figure out disease processes helped me make the decision to switch. I have an extra computer now (iBook G4), and I would like it to crunch numbers for SETI. It think this is a worthy project!

My views on the project: if we don't do this, who will? I haven't heard of tremendous money being given to projects such as this (to buy time on supercomputers, for example). Any way we can help is cool.

The only suggestion I could make so far is to list whether you recommend running this client on a laptop computer. I don't want to cook my 'Book! ;-)
