I'm a fortysomething Canadian francophone living in Montreal, Quebec. My interests range from philosophy and psychology through cultural and (trans)gender studies to film and literature. I studied Asian Traditions in the context of a Concordia University Religious Studies program. I work as a mental health community counsellor. I'm a moderator on an online psychological support forum. A mild-mannered skeptic, I've always enjoyed the works of Carl Sagan and have always been drawn to the intersection of science and the myriad ways we humans try to give meaning to our existence. My interest in SETI research fits snugly into this.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I think it's a worthy cause and I enjoy knowing that I'm contributing in some small way to the advancement of scientific knowledge. Plus, my computer is often idling; might as well put it to good use.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
