I use seti so that I can give my cpu something better to do than leak power to spyware.
I think the project is a great idea.
Suggestions?
Sure, instead of hogging down so much cpu time, why not spend more time making the code more efficient. Doesn't anyone do straight machine code anymore?
Boinc really get most benefit from the power consumption that they don't have to pay for, if you offereed to reimburse people for time on their cpu's even if it was in the cents per year range and stamps costs more than what they'd get, more people would use it. Simple psychology. |
