Retired employee of Federal Office For Civilation in Switzerland (FOCA), 66 years old, living in Switzerland (Rueschegg-Heubach, Canton Berne) and Thailand (Naklua near Pattaya). Married second time with Thai wife. Speaking German, English and French and a little bit Spanish and Thai. Father of two children. Son living and married in America (State N.Y.), two grand-children. Daughter living in Switzerland, married for the second time, no children. Like good food, wine and bear, movies (action, SciFi, comedies), books (mystery), sudoku. Very interested in all kind of mystery, especially UFO. While on duty had several times to deal with or was informed about sightings. No question for me that something exists out there. Completely disagree with any war. People should look at Earth from outside (like Astronauts) to realize we all live on one small planet with a very thin and fragile atmosphere. Why can we not live together in peace and take care of our planet instead of distroying it.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I am running SETI@home for I believe there is something out there. Not only because of sightings but also in view of the fact that there are billions of other suns with planets. There is absolutely no reason why we should be the only ones.
However, I have no idea what the chances are to find other intelligent beings. Even if we found signals we would most probabely not be able to answer and to open a dialogue. However, it is worth to run this project in the hope to know one day that we are not alone. Maybe this would change our world! |
