Personal background
Greetings! I am a 37 year old technical writer living in beautiful San Diego, CA. Some of my hobbies include camping, hiking, scuba diving, travel, and, of course, spending many, many hours staring up at the night sky with awe and wonder.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
"The universe is a far, far bigger place than anything imaginable....if we are alone, isn't that a great waste of space?" (An attempt to quote a line from memory from the movie "Contact").
I truly believe, given the vastness of the universe, that life, other than our own, surely must exist. Intelligent life? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Perhaps far beyond our wildest dreams. I offer that we owe it to ourselves to find out, and to announce our presence to those out there in the cosmos who might be listening.
SETI@home is a wonderful project, and I am proud to offer my assistance to this endeavor. It is my sincere wish that a discovery is made in my lifetime.
