| I'm from Katy, Texas, which is a little suburb just west of Houston. I spent 20 years in the grocery business and decided to retire early. That lasted 3 weeks and I am now a fine pipes and tobacco merchant! I've spent a lifetime being interested in the night sky and have acquired progressively larger and more powerful telescopes with which to stare into space. Astronomy goes well with a pipe as long as you light your pipe first to not ruin your night eyes! I figure that the universe is far too infinite for us to be alone. One day, perhaps we'll find other life to share this whole "thing" with. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
| SETI@home is a fine use for all of those spare computing cycles that would normally just go to waste. I run SETI on several machines and have been doing so, off and on, since the project's inception. If you smoke a pipe and want to join a fledgling SETI group, why not the ASP group?
