| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I run SETI@home primarily because of having been inspired by Carl Sagan's Cosmos all those years ago. IT is a hopeful, progressive, positive and peaceful thing to do in an increasingly crazy world.
I fully support the project. The world is still being held back by religion, hatred, ignorace, territoriality etc, and this project is a shining example of co-operation on a global scale. Against overwhelming odds and levels of probability, we humans are sending out "scouting parties" to the stars to see if we are not alone. It is exciting and ennobling, and it certainly beats daytime tv.
Suggestions? - make more noise! make more of a fuss of this cool project. |
