Personal background
Character:
I’m 51 years old and have been a computer aficionado since 1984 (I’ve always kinda wondered what their purpose was other than sending and receiving email). I’m a Navy (Vietnam Era) veteran who has never quite conformed to the status quo. Consequently, people who know I run SETI@home think I’m a little off…and that’s a good thing. Born, raised, and still living in Wisconsin. Don’t really know why, because I hate winter, but I’m still here.

Computers:
#1. AMD Athlon MP Dual 1.2GB Processors, 768MB RAM, dual OS (WIN98 and Linux SUSE), don’t believe in the spyware aspect of XP!
#2. AMD Duron 550MHZ, 512MB RAM, WIN98.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have a hard time comprehending the attitude that we are the only life form in the entire cosmos. I believe those who adopt this school of thought are just afraid of what we might find out there (or what may find us). With the problem most of our population has with ethnicity can you imagine what would happen if they met E.T.? I believe we are being watched and when we reach an acceptable intelligence and technological level contact will be allowed. In the meantime I’ll just keep running SETI@home 24/7 and see what we come up with. Oh, by the way...beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent life down here!
