Why do you run SETI@home?
I run seti@home because one it is a really interesting project to take on. I also thought it was really nice way of testing the capabilities of my cpu(s). I also wanted to find another use for my machine other than daily tasks, what should I do when I am not at home ah yes run seti :)
What are your views about the project?
I really think that seti is a good investment. I enjoy coming home knowing that I have helped in some way and any contributions I can give I do.
Any suggestions?
Is there anyway that you can allow seti to run on a USB drive? Can there be a way to ask for more than 1 work unit at a time? Is there a way to take advantage of 64-bit cpus or even dual core cpus? Maybe even a way to setup for multiple dual cores, such as the quad core G5? Could there be a way to choose to either have no gui for the data being processed? Maybe a status bar with how much is completed so that the system runs faster or a way so that there is more cpu used on the work unit than the actual showing of the graphics? (subject to change)
