Mission statement

This teams purpose is to amass huge numbers of WU credits, on a regular basis, for ALL the current BOINC projects, including the following:

Physical science:
CPDN, Einstein, LHC, SETI, uFluids

Bio/Medical science:
Leiden Classical, Predictor, QMC@ home, Rosetta, SIMAP, WCG

Mathematical science:
PrimeGrid (was Message @home), Sztaki

Miscellaneous science:
BURP, Crash Collection, Lattice, Pirates, Resource Management, XtremLab

We are not dedicated to just one project - rather we would hope that each member supports a number of projects by providing each with a percentage share of the members resources as they feel appropriate.
This approach also makes sense if a members primary project fails to issue any Work Units to crunch - some projects do not create enough work to be done, so there can be times when no work is issued and your PC is spinning its wheels as with no work to do, your hardware is not contributing anything !!

Far better to have other projects, that can be utilised when your primary project is down. This is why the BOINC software was developed - now you can set your resource share to whatever percentage for each project, and in the full knowledge that when your primary project has no work available, other projects can step in and utilise what would otherwise be wasted CPU cycles.

Of course if you specifically choose to only attach to one project only, then UK BOINC Team will still be the best team for you, as your single contribution will help us to maintain our position at the top of the rankings for EACH of the projects we are involved in.

We hope that the use of ALL of our spare CPU cycles will help all of these worthy BOINC-based projects. By joining our team, we can use our combined muscle and help to provide the answers that the projects need to carry on their research. And we will zoom up the team charts as our collective reward for our support.

Lastly, we are able to offer free support and guidance (via our team forum) to UBT members to help ensure that your PC is operating optimally.
