I'm from Richmond Virginia and have lived here all of my life. I was born in 1959, the last year of the baby boomers. I am a master electrician as well as a HVAC mechanic and have been working for mechanical corporations since 1993.
My father worked for IBM in the 50's & 60's and my sister owned a computer retail store in the late 90's where I first learned to build desktops way before plug and play came along. During this time I would cannibalize trade ins and put together a four node BBS running Renegade software. At that time, the fastest modem was 2400 baud and transferring a 1.4 Mb file took around 8 hours. I am not sure what the actual date was that I began running seti@home after seeing a screen saver running on a pc at a job I was working on and asked what the cool screen saver was. And here i am.
