Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI@home and BOINC are a great idea--why not harness the unused clock cycles of all the idle CPUs around the world to search for evidence of extraterrestrial life or do other useful work?
i've set BOINC to run all the time on my box at home (3.2 GHz P4-530 running SUSE 10) and the only time i notice it is when it shows up in "top".
