Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that it would be arrogant of us to assume that we are the only life in the entire universe.

However, due to the vastness of space, and the relatively short time that we have been around as a civilization, I feel that it may be unlikely that we will find another civilization that we can communicate or meet with.

While there are probably billions of stars that have planets that support life, the odds of a civilization being nearby and also alive at the exact same time that we are seem slim.

We may discover civilizations that have died thousands, hundreds of thousands, or millions of years ago.
