Personal background
I’m Jason Street from sunny (well sometimes it’s sunny) England.
When I’m not scuba diving, running around caves, building web sites or spending time with the girlfriend I work as an IT support engineer where I drink huge amounts of tea.
I have a small network at home (as you do) consisting of 3 ancient computers and a shinny new one, all process SETI work units as well as make a lot of noise and heat the room.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe there is inelegant life out there. They may not want to know us until we stop fighting each other and we start looking after our plaint a bit better.
I don’t think we will find a super advanced race as they will hide from us until be start behaving ourselves, but there are probably lots of other races out there sending out radio signals we can detect.
One day we will make contact and I would very much like to be around to see them as well as worlds reaction (should be quite a laugh)
If I met an alien I would take him/her/it scuba diving if they would give me a ride in there spaceship (sort of a win, win situation for me)
I am also in competition with one of my work mates to do more work units. So far I am 400 behind:(
