Personal background |
I'm a 45-year-old kid who's lived with computers all my life. So I don't actually have a life. I'm married, with a wife who works with plants, so our work kind of cancels each other out. She's outside 12 hours a day, I'm inside 22 hours a day (except when I walk to the letterbox to get the mail). |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I joined SETI@home in 1998, and ran for some years from both work and home computers. The reason I joined SETI was in response to a great admiration and respect for Carl Sagan, whose TV shows and books have appealed to me and even changed the way I look at things around me. Starstuff indeed.
I've lately joined Climate Prediction, as I figured all that CPU heat from SETI@Home computers must be warming up the earth! ;)
If prediction of the future climate isn't the most important thing on the earth, I don't know what is. And SETI is the most important thing off the earth. And that just about covers it.
