I am a computational astronomer. I have a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University with a specialty in data mining. I am applying data mining techniques to identify objects using data from the Sky-Server, SWIFT, and other observatories.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've been doing SETI from the beginning, and feel it is a very worthwhile project as well as proving the value of the massively parallel computing model.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
