Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@Home because I believe there are intelligent beings in the universe and we should look for them. SETI@Home is one of the projects being conducted towards this end. My experience with SETI@Home Classic was that it was not user friendly. Many problems with server, accounting of units, not providing a means to change obsolete e-mails or correct non-accounting of work done. It seem to be directed at what the creators wanted to be accomplished regardless of the feelings of users. I hope that the BOINC controllers react in a timely manner to user problems and devise an accounting of work done thats simple with a capability to address problems.
