Personal background
50 years old, industrial programmer (configurator) for Pulp & Paper Mill, too busy for hobbies but they would include amateur astromomy, R/C boats & aircraft, puzzles, self improvement. Daughter 1 is Aerospace Engineer, Daughter 2 is massage therapist, recently adopting 2 orphaned children of late adopted sister. Run a church congregation in spare time, have MS.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Interesting direction of investigation and I like taking part to help in a worthwhile project.

I have no personal doubt that there is more intelligent life in the galaxy and universe, I just have doubts we will ever hear of it, given our remote location in Orion Arm. Still, I won\\'t be surprised when we do.

Background information on the choice of detection algorithms would be interesting.
