Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I know that extraterrestrial life exists. Humans will eventually discover it, but it might not be anytime soon. Might as well give it a shot though. Such an encounter can bring only benefits however, as I do not believe we would encounter hostile races.
I run SETI@home because I feel that we'll never find anything if we don't at least try. The analysis of data also helps us to learn more about our universe besides simply scanning for intelligent signals. I wish all SETI researchers the best of luck, and I hope that we will eventually make contact.
