Profile: Andy Cronin

Personal background
I'm 48 now (obviously this willonce again rapidly go out of date and will prove to be a mistake) I have two sons one 33 months, the other 17 months.
I still manage the infrastructure Support team for a Government Agency (nothing secret).
My hobbies are:
Reading;
SF, Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Popular Science. Current favourite Authors are Steven Erickson, John Gribbin and J.V. Jones all time favourite Author is Isaac Asimov.
Movies;
LOTR special favourite although nothing can ever have the same impact as that spaceship in the opening of Star Wars in 1977!
Computers;
Mainly for email, Ebay, and of course BOINC, now have a wii for family-friendly gaming but still managed to complete HL2 and HL2 Ep 1, looking forward to Ep 2 but don't expect to have time to play it...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I believe in the logical inevitability of life elsewhere and want to be part of the push to prove it exists (or existed given how long the signals will have been travelling to get here).
I think the project is an inspired idea and helps to bring like-minded people together.
Keep up the good work and maybe try to pressure Government Departments to deploy SETI@home as the default screen saver across all departments (there's an awful lot of untapped processing power out there.
