Personal background
I am from a small town in East Texas. I have a wide virety of hobbies, but they all center around computers and the many wonderful things you can do with them. I found out about SETI@home from Wired magazine and it occured to me that I had some old computers in my room that I was useing for parts and it would be neat to set them all up to give them something to do instead of collect dust.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think I run SETI@home for the same reasons so many other people do it. We believe there is something out there. I feel this project has just as much a chance as any to make that discovery. It is just a mater of time before something happens, and at least if nothing ever does we are all doing this because we believe and working toward something and believing in it will pay off in the end one way or another.
