Personal background
I'm currently a single, 46 year-old Elementary Substitute teacher and has been a SETI@Home member for several years. I play golf every weekend and hike/walk as often as I can. I've always enjoyed astronomy and cosmology and enjoy helping science learn more about the cosmos. Rob Macfie
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
First let me say that the SETI@Home project is truly remarkable. I've always felt that given the enormity of the universe, and the astronomical numbers of the stars available to nurture another planet with life, there is no doubt other life exists, it's just a matter of finding it. I'm hoping to get the problems of importing all my data from my old SETI account to this new one. At this moment I've already completed 4,263 work units, yet under my account it shows nothing. No computer running, no work units, nothing. I still run the program faithfully and I've got a cable connection and a good high powered computer, but I still don't show up as a working member. I don't have any suggestions, the program is great! I only plead for some help to straighten out my problem. Rob Macfie
