Profile: Gary S. Sicurella, Sr.

Personal background
I am a retired 58 year old retired "IBM-er" after working 20 years in Rochester, NY. I have a Bachelor's in English and a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I have taught Elementary School, grades 4-6 for one year. I have served in the United States Army for three years active duty in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
I have carried on a love affair with Astronomy since I started looking up at the night sky. I use to live in Canada, far away from the lights of any city and the sky at night was so beautiful, curious, and inviting the imagination.
Studying the universe as far back as the 1950's in elementary school I became infatuated with the stars. I have seen many new developments in science and math since that time. I just wish I live long enough to see space travel as a reality.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe I owe it to the human race to contribute a much as I can to be part of history in the making of receiving a intelligence from space. I am very excited that I can participate.
I do believe very strongly in the SETI project. I just wish that I could do more. I would love to volunteer and spend time in your computer lab.
