Personal background
Hi. My name is Matthew. I'm a full time college student at WVSU. I'm a pre-med major but will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. My ultimate career goal is to become a Nephrologist (Kidney Doctor). My favorite hobbies are swimming, bicyling, girls, music, movies, and computers.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home mainly because I enjoy the competition. I might as well get some use out of my computers idle processes. It almost seems as if there has to be extraterrestrial life in outer space, because the universe is so hugh, and constantly expanding (The Big Bang Theory). I read an interesting article titled "The Misconceptions About The Big Bang" in Scientific American, March 2005 Issue. Basically it said that some gallaxies were traveling alway from each other faster than the speed of light! Now thats crazy! So basically I believe there has to be Life beyond Earth or else it would be a waste of space. I just hope that its my computer that makes contact with ET.
