48 yr. old Mom who's lived in 3 different countries and upteen different states in the U.S. Currently settled in Mississippi. Been a space nut since watching the first spaceship televised going into space and really became a junkie with Star Trek (still like to see our civilization go thataway). I hope we do find something out there to jerk us out of our superiority attitude and give us the "up the universe".
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I think ET exists. I think it has been discovered, and we're being kept in the dark for some reason. As to transmitting a beacon, I figure if they've got interstellar space travel they probably would have found us by now with all the space pollution we're creating around our planet and out in space with our airwaves.
I think SETI@home is a wonderful idea. I'm a great believer in helping out worthwhile projects and volunteering my time (the old hippie arises).
