Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I was interested in SETI many years ago. Racked up a lot of time on my computer when it wasn't busy doing other fun things. My computer was finally disappointed to learn that it could no longer handle SETI because its GPU wasn't able to handle the load. So, for another many years, I just used my computer for my own entertaining, computing projects. Finally in 2019 I broke down and purchased a new computer. I have both of them sitting in front of me; one to run number crunching programs I write, and the old one to do code development and everything else. Of course, I have a laptop. Okay - an old ipad too. I'll inherit an ancient machine early next year. My wife will be ecstatic to again play some of her favorite games on the old Windows machine.
