Profile: Antonius

Personal background
My name is Anthony Nero and I live in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. I was recently a member of the team US - Distributed, but in perusing the SETI statistics I noticed team SETI.USA, and read their profile. In my patriotic fervor I joined immediately. I am a Computer Science teacher at Ambler Day School , in Ambler, PA. We run SETI@Home on all our school machines. (When the other teachers don't shut them down!) I'm 33 years old and enjoy ancient music (especially Bach , Albinoni and Marcello) and Jazz (old school especially). Space is the final frontier. Hopefully space travel will be brought to the masses.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There has to be life somewhere in the cosmos other than here on earth. The probability is there because of the vastness of our universe. There are trillions are stars, many like our sun. There has got to be a situation where a planet composed of similar chemicals (mostly Water) is located in a close relationship with a star, where an average surface temperature is similar to earth's. Think of all the possibilities that could exist in the universe that we have yet to see and/or discover. Receiving RF signals that may have been generated by ETI is a lot more probable, I believe, than seeing ET in person. Since radio waves travel much faster than matter, I believe we will most likely discover alien lifeforms through RF signals and that is why I participate in this project.
