| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I think it is virtually certain that there is extraterrestrial life, although I suspect the chances of intelligent and communicative life with the inclination to use radio transmissions anywhere within detection range are remote. Still, it is worth the attempt to look and see, which is why I run SETI@Home. I think we should probably not transmit a beacon signal; it is far safer for us if we detect them before they detect us. |
