I'm just a retired Australian with a deep and abiding interest in matters "space" and science generally. I think it's a reasonable expectation that we may not be the only advanced(?) species in the entire cosmos. That idea just seems to smack of hubris to me.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run seti at home because I think it's a good way to maintain interest and participation in such projects. Even if the call never comes, look at the amazing amount of knowledge gleaned. If I had a suggestion, it would be that you spread worlwide, but that won't happen now I know. Maybe someday it will.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
