Personal background
I am a software engineer working with Magma Design Automation. We provide software solutions to the semiconductor companies for designing ICs. I am presently based out of Bangalore, India. I am 28 years old. From my childhood, I have been fascinated with Astronomy, Astrobiology and everything related to the universe.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
To me SETI is a very important project for mankind, since it is highly likely that the universe we live in is teeming with life, and out of the billions of planets, satellites, comets and even stars with life, there should be at least a few thousands (which I hope is a collosal underestimation) with intelligent life. The goal of establishing communication with such a community of exo-intelligence starts with us detecting an artificial signal from the static. The second step would be to send a signal back, hoping that it would be received.

To be a part of this fascinating project by using the compute resources at my disposal is the least I can do at this time. I am eagerly looking forward to the announcement from SETI that we have proof of exo-intelligence. I am certain that it is just a matter of time.
