Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Hmm...let's pick one of these topics. A beacon for others to find? Probobly not a good idea. If human culture is any indication, as well as sci fi, any advanced alien culture isn't going to come down and just share the knowledge of faster then light travel or whatever method they use to get around to other stars, no one shares with lesser civilizations, and probobly never will. The only things we'd ever get to come here is something that would probobly want to destroy us. But I do believe in the vast expanse of the universe, with trillions and trillions of stars, each with many planets, at least 1 other one has to have some kind of life, and we're probobly not the most advanced of them.
