Profile: MABTisdale

Personal background
I am an Anglican priest, a Pitt alumnus, and a native Pittsburgher.

I have been supporting this project, on my computer, since the late 90's with the original SETI@home program and site. Sadly, there was a break of a couple of years when I was training for the priesthood. Now, however, I am back to data crunching.

I started with SETI@home, came back to it, and am now on BOINC.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
The numbers are not pride, but rather markers of the desire to make contact and to learn from others.

I believe that it is not the amount of credits 'earned' or 'awarded', but the time searching that those numbers represent, which is of paramount significance.

I have the faith and certainty that God is universal and that our concepts of God will never be sufficient to comprehend His depth and magnitude. Herbert McCabe once wrote, "God and the Universe cannot equal two."

Therefore, I believe that we shall encounter 'alien' or 'foreign' forms of extraterrestrial life. We are never alone.
