Personal background
Living on Cape Cod for my first 14 years gave me dreams of Oceanography. Moving to the deserts and test ranges of New Mexico at 15 turned my eyes skyward. I'm 34 now, and those fantastic deep skies, with stars as brilliant as they are plentiful, leave me with a certainty that life out there is not just possible but probably plentiful. Is it anything like we think it is? I think the universe is too clever for that, and I for one hope its utterly different from life here.

Down here on this tiny backwater speck 30,000 lightyears from galactic center, i like to draw, to study electronics, and to love the little treasures and mysteries i have in my life.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI? Why do i have the sneaking suspicion that when we find an alien signal it will be of one of their sitcoms? Would we even know what to do with any alien signal or how to interpret it? What would Alien Race X do with our early broadcasts? Would we rather they came across 'C-SPAN' or 'Sanford and Son'? Am i incapable of finishing a sentence without a question mark? We may never know the answers to these questions.
