Personal background
I live in Bucharest (the capital of ROMANIA), I have 32 years old and my job is computer related (actualy I'm VB programmer). I like to find out (if possible all) about science's last frontiers and, therefore, love watching Discovery Channel (I don't have Discovery Science, yet).

Today I found the way to become a part of your team in this project and I hope soon we'll find something...

For ET's I have this message: "Hi! You are not alone. We, Humans, would like to talk with you. And maybe we'll meet someday!"
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Extraterrestrial life is VERY possible to exist (I'd say 99% probability) - even a cell could mean life. But it would be more interesting also finding Intelligence out-there. This discovery I think will be more like an accident (and may take some time - so, be pacient!). Maybe in future time when we'll learn to travel 10's or 100's lightyears in space some other form of life will be found. However I'm hopefully (optimistic - sorry for my english if I mistake) and for SURE something will come out of this project.

Of course there will be (but allways are!) different opinions:
-Some people will thing "This is the end..." and they will afraid (see the Independence Day) and will try to stop this research or try to hide or something else
-Others will think "This is good, it's usefull to have friends in space..."
The benefits could be the knowledge, the technologies they have and we don't if used in a proper way, or else this becomes dangerous.

We should try also to send signals as many as we can. There should be transmited the kind of signals we're looking for them too. Something that could be different out of noises from space: radio waves pulses transmitting numbers;tv lessons for foreign languages; laser beams; mirrors mounted on the moon (why not?).

I like to make myself (my pc) usefull and contribute to scientific research. This project is a great ideea (I think for now).

Yes, I have a suggestion for client application. Is it possible to install it as a service on Windows XP (and why not on other OS's) so it could run without having to be logged on? If I log out but not turn off the pc it stops.
