Personal background
I was born in Turda, Romania. I am 24 years of age and I work in the IT technical support. I currently live in the US where I ocupy myself with my two jobs and am also into amateur piloting. It was not too long ago that I heard about this project and I quickly became interested in it. I was arguing with a coworker about macintoshes, how much I dislike them and she was trying to show me how much better they have gotten. While showing me the mac she had, I saw the SETI program on her pc and I asked her what that was. She told me and I was really captivated by the idea of finding another inteligent form of life. I really believe there are are life forms out there. In fact I am going to be bold and say there are life forms out there, but the probability of finding them is very slim. However, ambition is what drives us, and helps us reach our goals. I look at it this way: If we just search and search and find nothing then we haven't lost anything, we have only improved our technology. If we do find something or someone then not only have we hit jackpot but also have improved the tools we work with.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I have 2 pcs at home running 24/7 and online 24/7. I figured it's a small contribution to the project, but just like the ants, numerous small contributions make up a whole big one. So I am determine to use those pcs at home until we come up with an answer for "Are we alone". I think the SETI project is a great project and a very ambitous one. Keep up the good work guys.
