Personal background
Greetings from Greece.
I am an 30 years old senior programmer/analyst (team leader) in a big software house in Greece specialized in billing systems for telecommunication companies.
I am also a Computer Science student in the Open University of Greece.
My hobbies: reading, movies, fishing, 4x4 off-road excursions, programming, internet.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home for the following reasons:
1. I like to take advantage of everything I have available; I need the PC to be open all the time and it is stupid to leave it there doing nothing almost the most of the time. So, SETI@home fills that gap.
2. If there is a possibility to receive ET signals, I would like to participate in that.

My view about the project is that the possibility of success is very very small, tiny, tends to be zero, but it isn't zero!. It is >0. Since it is there, SETI might hit the jack pot and write a very bright page in the history of human life on earth.

I would like to suggest (if it is not already somewhere I haven't seen) an overall "progress bar" in the main SETI web page that will show the progress made so far by all the participants in the SETI@home project over the total recorded signals.
