Personal background
I was born in 1979. I am a British-born Chinese (more commonly referred to as a "BBC"). I was born in London, England, UK. I have worked as an IT Consultant, Web Designer, Web Programmer, IT Support Engineer, IT Field Engineer and IT Helpdesk Assistant. In case you haven't figured it out, I work in the IT industry.... :)

As for my hobbies, well, I'm an avid video gamer, I play mostly games in which you think, such as RPGs like Final Fantasy and strategy games such as Command & Conquer. I enjoy fighting games like the Street Fighter series and The King of Fighters series. I'm also hopelessly addicted to anime (aka Japanese Animation) and card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic (although I really need to get more serious with the MTG side).

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When I first heard about SETI, I thought "that idea is so simple, I'm surprised nobody else thought of it first", kinda like a "I wish I'd thought of that" opinion.

I run SETI on two machines -- one is a desktop PC, one is a laptop. My desktop PC is the main one, since it is on most of the time, plus it's a hell of a lot faster than my laptop :)

I think SETI is a great idea, and now, with the introduction of BOINC, it's going to be even better, with the ability to split your processing time with other projects.

The only suggestion I currently have, regarding SETI and BOINC, is that the source code available is not (in my own opinion) easy to understand, but I talk from an amateur programmer's point of view, and from someone who does not programming in that language very often, so I may be biased. Others may not agree with me. One thing I would like to see is a cross-platform framework for BOINC so that people can program their own BOINC-based programs without having to be too concerned about the BOINC internals.
