| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

As many others I believe in extraterrestrial existence and therefore I support SETI - hoping, that someday we will have contact to other intelligent lifeformes - whereever... - maybe on earth...;-)
I know about the obvious problem to reach those "brothers in space" - even when we found them - but anyway it is part of the human nature to look for them.
Most probably most of them are in the same position as we are and asking the same questions: "Is there anyone else in space?"
Based on the experience with the reunion of Germany I think, that in a short time after "the contact" both sides will be very happy and overjoyed. The problems will follow very soon...but I do not believe in a real conflict. It will be the same situation as on earth with to different cultures or countries.
But anyway - there is no alternative to searching them and looking into space - and for a possible new place to live...I am sure, that the target of mankind is to prepare us for the day, to leave "spaceship earth"...and this is not science fiction - this is a logical result of the human history...!
