Profile: PoserSETI

Personal background
I grew up in Brooklyn in the 1960s and 1970s. Somewhere in my parent's house sits the, if I remember it correctly, CYCLOPS study book. It was an early SETI study where arrays of small antennae were combined to be able to scan more of the sky than single large ones such as Arecibo.

My first love was astronomy, but Mom and Dad showed me that there were 90 jobs per year for Astronomers, and none were any place near NYC. That wasn't acceptable, especially to them!

My partner had the SETI screensaver on his PC and I asked him about it. He has been doing it for years, so I am some serious catching up to do, but I'll work on it.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extra-terrestrial life exists. But then again, I would suspect most answering these surveys are! If we transmit a beacon, it should say: "Stay away! We haven't grown up yet!"
