| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1. ETs definately exist. Like they say in Contact (great book, great movie, by the way), if they didn't exist, it would be an awful waste of space. I doubt, however, that we will ever make a definitive discovery. But I wish we would; it certainly would throw God right out the window.
2. We've already fired "here we are" signals into space, so this second question is moot.
3. I figure that my computer sits idle most of the time, so instead of using those CPU cycles to make toasters fly around, I might as well try to contribute something to mankind. |
