Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I love Sci-Fi, and although I believe that the next great discoveries about factual evidence of extra-terrestial life in our universe will happen using conceptual tools - I never discounted credible efforts and amazing luck. We indeed may win the intergalactic lottery, and stuble upon prints of ET signals via SETI. In any case, I believe that searching for ETs is in our very best interest. May they be hostile, superial, or simply ignorent - being alone at any scale is the darest thing for any human being. As time goes on people will have more and more boxes running at work, at home, at the local community offices - or even at the weekend bungallow, visited only once a month. Please run SETI, Folding or other project everywhere, this is the best 'everyday' people can do for our human race. We are, on the grand scale, responsible for each other - pitty concerns of investment and return should not bother anyone in this manner.

I just wish business leaders would be more open to the idea, and would open up the immerse - but mostly wasted - power of corporate desktop computers. Peace to you all.
