Profile: Daniel Jackson

Personal background
Hi. I'm "Daniel Jackson".
Obviously that's not my real name, but I didnt want to put it on, just in case. I'll gladly upload a picture though, because I dont think anyone will ever recognise me. I'm only ickle (14) but I have my own PC, so I thought ahh to hell with it, I'll do something useful for a change. So I downloaded this and leave my PC on 24/7 processing data in the backround. I also want to set up my own (miniature) radio telescope, out of an old sky dish we've got. someone tell me how to do it before my parents throw it away!!! I dont really have the first clue about any of this but there we go.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1 Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
2 Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
3 Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

1: Of course. If I didn't, I wouldnt be running this software. In all certainty, there's another planet of a similar form in this galaxy, or another.
Surely if there's another earth, there could be another shark, another mouse, another dog, cat, parrot, dolphin, tuna, lion, tiger, bear, etc. and therefore there could (and probably will be) another Human. I'm not saying they would be human, or anything like us. What I'm saying is that it is a physical, chemical, biological and mathematical near-certainty that Exrtraterrestrial intelligence exists. Who knows, maybe even some of the more probably science fictions (2001 trilogy, Star trek [ wierd but true, I think matter antimatter drive's possible] or even something like stargate is theoretically possible.
2: Yes. with the same info as trhe moon plaque.
3: Nothing else useful I can do with my PC
